Georhexis: Journal of Environmental Change and Disaster Science is a peer-reviewed scientific journal, open access scholarly journal published by the Department of Geography Education, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Universitas Negeri Manado, Indonesia. The journal serves as a scientific platform for disseminating high quality research, theoretical developments, and innovative practices related to environmental change, disaster science, and sustainable spatial development. Georhexis is committed to advancing interdisciplinary knowledge by publishing original research articles, review papers, and conceptual studies that address contemporary environmental challenges from geographical, ecological, social, technological, and policy perspectives. The journal encourages contributions that integrate geospatial technologies, environmental assessment, disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, resilience studies, and sustainability science to support evidence based decision making at local, national, and global scales.
The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to, environmental change, climate change, disaster risk reduction, natural hazards, environmental management, physical geography, human geography, geospatial science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, environmental modeling, spatial analysis, community resilience, environmental education, sustainable development, ecosystem management, land use and land cover change, hydrology, geomorphology, coastal and marine hazards, volcanic and seismic hazards, urban environmental issues, and environmental governance.
All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double blind peer review process to ensure scientific quality, originality, methodological rigor, and academic integrity. Georhexis welcomes contributions from researchers, academics, practitioners, policymakers, and graduate students worldwide whose work contributes to a deeper understanding of environmental dynamics and disaster science.
The journal is published three times a year in April, August, and December, providing a regular venue for the dissemination of impactful research that supports sustainable environmental management and disaster resilience. Georhexis aims to become a leading international reference in environmental and disaster studies by fostering scientific collaboration and promoting innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges.
