Editors of Neo Civic Education: Media Kajian Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan must make decisions that are, and are seen to be, independent and fair. A competing interest exists when a relationship or interest could affect, or could be seen to affect, an editor’s judgement. Editors declare such interests and step aside when needed, following the COPE Core Practice on conflicts of interest and COPE guidance for editors.

03What editors do▾
1.  Declare the interest to the Editor-in-Chief, or to the Managing Editor if the Editor-in-Chief is concerned, before taking any action on the manuscript.
2.  Step aside from handling, reviewer selection, and the decision when the interest is significant. Another editor without a conflict is appointed.
3.  Do not see the reviews or take part in discussions of the manuscript once they have stepped aside.
4.  For minor interests, the Editor-in-Chief decides whether the editor may continue, and records the decision.
5.  Declare any new interest that arises during the process at once.
04The publisher and the partner▾
—  Editors who hold posts at Universitas Negeri Manado or in AP3KnI do not let those roles influence decisions.
—  Manuscripts by authors from UNIMA or AP3KnI go through the same double-anonymous review as all others.
—  Editorial decisions are independent of fees, funding, and partnerships. See Sponsorship Policy and Revenue and Business Model.
05Citation and influence▾
—  Editors do not ask authors to cite the editor’s own work, or the journal’s, without a genuine scholarly reason.
—  Editors do not use information from manuscripts for their own research.
—  Editors do not accept gifts or favours from authors.
06If an interest is not declared▾
—  The manuscript may be reassigned and reassessed by another editor.
—  If a decision was affected, it may be reviewed, and a published article may be corrected or receive a notice.
—  The editor may be asked to step down from the editorial team. Serious cases are handled under the Research Misconduct policy.
—  Anyone may report a concern in confidence. See Whistleblowing & Ethics Complaints.
