01Policy▾
Neo Civic Education: Media Kajian Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan works with research institutions, universities, funders, and integrity offices to resolve concerns about the integrity of research submitted to or published in the journal. This follows the COPE Core Practice on allegations of misconduct and the COPE guidance Cooperation between research institutions and journals on research integrity cases.
Journal’s role Assess the evidence, ask the authors for an explanation, and correct the published record where needed.
Institution’s role Investigate the conduct of its researchers, which the journal cannot do itself.
Contact point The Editor-in-Chief, through neociviceducation@unima.ac.id
02When the journal contacts an institution▾
—  The authors cannot give a satisfactory explanation for serious concerns, such as fabricated or falsified data, substantial plagiarism, duplicate publication, or a paper mill.
—  The authors do not respond after repeated attempts to reach them.
—  There is a dispute about authorship or contributions that the journal cannot resolve.
—  There are concerns about research ethics, such as research with people without approval or consent.
—  The journal is asked to confirm information as part of an institution’s own investigation.
03What the journal shares▾
—  A factual description of the concern and the supporting evidence (for example, similarity reports, data, or correspondence).
—  The manuscript or article details, and what the authors have said in response.
—  Only the information the institution needs. The identity of the person who raised the concern is not shared without their consent.
—  Reviewers’ identities and reports stay confidential unless the reviewer agrees to their release.
04Institutions informing the journal▾
Institutions are encouraged to tell the journal when an investigation concerns an article submitted to or published in Neo Civic Education, and to share the findings when it ends, so that the journal can act on the record.
—  Write to the Editor-in-Chief with the article title and DOI or the manuscript ID, and the stage of the investigation.
—  The journal treats this information as confidential.
—  On the findings, the journal may publish a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction. See Correction, Retraction and Withdrawal.
05While an investigation is under way▾
—  Review or production of a manuscript may be paused.
—  For a published article, the journal may publish an expression of concern if the investigation is long, inconclusive, or unanswered.
—  The journal keeps the authors informed of what it is doing, unless this would harm the investigation.
—  The journal acknowledges messages from institutions within 7 working days.
06Cooperation with other journals▾
Where a case affects other journals, for example duplicate submission or a paper mill, the editors may share relevant information with the editors of those journals, in confidence and only as needed to protect the scholarly record.
